The charming seafood restaurant, Humarhöfnin (The Lobster harbor,) is situated by the harbor in the small fishing village Höfn on the outskirts of Vatnajökull National Park.

Here you can enjoy the Icelandic lobster/langoustine while watching the splendid view of the boats in the docks from our windows or sit on our patio on a sunny day with a meal and a refreshing drink and enjoy the lovely scenery. If you prefer something else from the menu we ofcourse serve Icelandic lamb, arctic char and lots of other delicious courses.

Fun facts about Humarhofnin

We love langoustine so much that we had an artist friend of ours make us a sculpture we call Langastína, the langoustine goddess. True to old Nordic tradition we perform ceremonies at the beginning of the fishing season were we offer sacrifices to our goddess in the form of feasting on langoustine and white wine and pray to her for endless supplies of this delicious food. (See ceremony photo in media gallery).

„Simply Delicious!”

Reviewed June 16, 2011

We found this restaurant by coincidence, and we were very positively impressed. I had lobster and it was great (specially the dark sauce). A nice touch was that, in the end, I got a little hot and umid towel to clean my hands. My husband, not being a fan of lobster, got lamb and was very positively impressed too. We liked the place so much that we went there twice - and in both times it was delicious. Great service too.
