Ice Walk - Enjoy an easy walk on Breiðamerkurjökull, a glacier tongue from Europe largest Glacier. Accompanied by a local guide.
The walk is suitable for all abilities and offers breathtaking views over the area around the Glacier Lagoon, which is one of the best places in Iceland to see how the glacier landscape has changed over the last 100 years.
The guide, Þröstur Þór have long experience on the area around the Glacier Lagoon. For many years he worked at the Glacier Lagoon driving boats around floating Icebergs. And now he has been taking people up to the glacier for 3 years. He is a member of the rescue team in the county and has finished Mountain Guiding School from FAS, the secondary school in Höfn, his home town.
Departures: 10:00 and 14:00 and pick-up is from the Glacier Lagoon/Jökulsárlón parking lot. During the wintertime departures upon request.

Fun facts about Icewalk

The week before I was gona start my company we had eruption in the active volcona Grímsvötn. And over one night everything turn into black. There was thick layer of ash on the glacier and it didn´t look good. I was very worried, nobody did know how long it was gona stay like that. I started, and thougt it would not work, but the costumers where all happy, it was special for them to walk on a glacier with some ash.
